2016 Most Memorable Beer List--a list from YC (Singapore)

The year is nearing it's end but the list continues--this time a short list from YC --a geek friend who flown in with 3 other geeks from Singapore not long ago for sharing session/s with some of us here in KL.

We often hear of friends from down south drove in or flew in for food or visiting friends--but for craft beer sharing session? that's really rare. (though food is also part of "must do" agenda for the guys)
新加坡朋友驾车或飞过来找朋友/找美食,或至少为了让车子可以在大道上尽情奔驰是常有的事,不过,特意带着啤酒飞来吉隆坡跟我们几个啤迷分享就不是那么普通的事,这期的年度清单主人YC就是不久前跟3位朋友从新加坡过来分享了好些瓶子的啤迷之一。虽然肉骨茶/螃蟹/还有一些街头美食也是重点,不过,品酒会始终还是重中之重

FiftyFifty Eclipse Elijah Craig 12yearold Bourbon BA
I had this bottle at a share with fellow beer lovers in TAPS bar Malaysia. It was the perfect balance of fudge, barrel char, vanilla with a medium body. I still recall how we built up the suspense for the session and matched schedules for this cross-border meet to work out. One of the best beer decisions this year.
这是在吉隆坡分享会喝到的瓶子--酒体适中, 充满木桶熏香,香草,奶糖的均衡黑啤, YC觉得为这次瓶子分享特意飞来是今年做过的最佳啤酒决定之一。
Sante Adairius Saison Bernice
Landed this in a trade with my friend Joe. It started with a typical belgian yeast spice before transiting to fuzzy peaches and tangerines. There was a nice tartness which didnt last too long. Having this at a share with some of the best people i met in beer made this a standout memory.
YC跟朋友交换的来的美国酸啤酒,带有类似桃和蜜桔口感,和通过啤酒认识的一些好朋友一起分享,记忆更深。
Evil Twin Maple Jesus.
This was one of the sweetest beers I've had. Normally, I stay away from sweet things as they make me cringe but for this beer, all the roasted malts and thick body worked well with the maple. My buddy Christian brought this back from his trip to the USA and shared with everybody who was stoked to have a taste of its potential. Paired with the best fried chicken in Chinatown.
这是另一位啤迷朋友从美国带回来的瓶子,是YC喝过感觉最甜的黑啤,平时不喜欢甜味食物的他,因为烤麦芽和浓郁酒体和枫树糖浆的融和,让这支黑啤变得美味--当时配着牛车水最好吃的炸鸡送酒。
Trillium Upper Case
Samuel brought a great stash of IPAs back and this stood out from an already stellar lineup. Sunshine in the mouth. I was speaking in the Upper Case after this.
也是啤迷朋友从美国带回来的当红酿坊IPA,喝着就像嘴里装满阳光。
Jester King El Cedro
It was an extremely lucky score from a bottle shop in Perth. A dry hopped Farmhouse ale aged on cedar spirals. This was a very grapefruit and creamy beer which shouts for the potential of cedar in hoppy beers.
很幸运在澳洲珀斯瓶子店找到的彬木桶陈农场风格啤酒,带柚子香的浓郁啤酒,让人看到彬木对“重啤酒花类”啤酒提味/的可塑性。

WEEK 94--2016 Most Memorable Beer List--a list from cttai(KL) PART 2/2

一年下来,尝味过的啤酒/蜜酒不少,上期选了10支,这期继续聊。
Here's the second/final part of my list :-
Hillfarmstead Society & Solitude 4
call it whatever you might--but this is 1 event most geeks were looking forward to--a dedicated "tap takeover"day at Warpigs CPH during CBC week.
29 HF beers on tap plus 14 different bottles, that's 43 choices in one single session.
To pick 1 out of however much/many different HF beers one could drink on that day is not easy--maybe it's even unfair--that a seemingly more hops forward/flavourful DIPA is chosen among that many different styles of brew from HF--but this really is a real delicious beer--such balance and elegance.
作为年度最受啤迷瞩目的活动,美国农场酿坊HILLFARMSTEAD在哥本哈根啤酒庆典周的“占领啤酒泵日”让啤迷惊喜,29款不同风格酿品,加上瓶子选择,是就算去美国也难见到阵容,那天在场啤迷们都面对选择困难症,很多啤迷尽量结伴分享当天能喝到的所有酿品,不过,要在超过30多款各具特色的啤酒中选出一款最爱或当天感觉最出色的酿品不是易事,这款双倍IPA优雅富有果香是不同级别啤酒花类别佳作。
Bokkereyder
It's easy to tell why this "fusion blend" lambic maker is getting much more attention during and after CBC week--making already delicious lambic even more tasty with fruits/food items added + barrel aging--with such small production--it's only natural the bottles are hard to come by --of all those glasses i have had so far--there's nothing you don't want (as yet) from this blender.
今年哥本哈根啤酒庆典後开始被更多啤迷发现的比利时天然发酵果酸啤酒“混酒作坊”,这家不是传统意义上的酿坊,做的是将别人酿好果酸啤酒通过加入不同水果/食材再过桶熟成方式,将原啤酒提升到另一个风味层次。至今喝过多款中,没有让人失望的。
Sahtipaja Meadme Bourbon Vanilla
Mead is slowly getting more attention here in Asia though supply is still relatively small/rare--Had this bottle not long ago, it's definitely a stronger in aroma/flavour version than the Original version--the influence of barrel makes it tasting like a fermented fruit juice full of goodness of bourbon & vanilla.
来自瑞典小酿坊,不单只酿造啤酒,蜜酒更是受到欧美啤迷追逐。这支用了几种不同梅果酿造蜜酒,除了有原版,也有过桶熟成版,通过美国波本烈酒木桶里浸泡,加上香草,让带果香甜味的酿品变得更浓郁,也提升了风味层次,想象成香草波本酒香浓果汁也无不可。
Other Half & Monkish JFK 2 LAX
Tasted this one --along with quite a few other NE style Ipa--which could also means tasting similar most of the time--but when this one hits the palate--the difference is very obvious--while some others tasted mostly "fruit-juice like" --this one is almost like a concentrated version of cordial--in a nice way--it's thick and stronger in taste, and it's delicious.
近期两家美国炙手可热新酿坊的合酿,拿手好戏是IPA,虽是在一个聚集了很多不同品牌IPA品饮会上喝到,众多风味相近IPA中,这是让人即刻尝出特色的酿品,相比一些类似果汁IPA这款更像是浓缩果汁,这么说完全不是贬义词,而是体现更香更浓郁风味,让人领悟原来IPA可以这样玩。
BIIR Sweet & Sour Red Series 2014
This one is a total surprise--that a beer with such distinct sensation of sweet and sour at the same time--yet the layer is clear--is quite amazing.
食物中能找到甜酸兼备例子不少,不过,啤酒中同时尝到鲜明均衡甜味和酸味是绝不简单的事,因为所有决定甜酸度的因素都要在酿造过程完成,不像比如果汁或咖啡可以再加糖或柠檬之类的再调和。喝到这支酸中带甜或甜中带酸啤酒真的惊喜,用比利时特有天然发酵方式酿造,加入樱桃梅果在木桶浸泡熟成,风味口感自然,完全没人工/化学假甜酸。
Alchemist Focal Banger
Having had Heady Topper for the first time and subsequently few more times last year--obviously was looking forward to tasting this--this is a more elegant version of a hops bomb ipa--there's nothing in your face--just nice balance of hops and malt--if only these can were not that hard to find in ASIA.
鼎鼎大名的美国酿坊作品,去年喝了几次这家另一名作Heady Topper让对只是强调啤酒花功能IPA感到厌烦的我再次发现这类型啤酒美好一面,这版本是更均衡优雅的Ipa,绝对高水平酿品。
B.Nektar Episode 13 + Sahtipaja Out of The Blue
Both are BA mead--while the Episode 13 is tasting "heavier", with some decanting it helps--Out of the Blue is tasting smooth with lower abv--brought these 2 to a private tasting in Hong Kong--it's nice to share something not available or yet to hit town with geeks there.
前者来自美国,后者是瑞典酿品,都是经过桶陈处理蜜酒,属于口感较浓郁类型。两支酿品同时在香港私人品饮会分享,要说区别的话,美国那支酒体口感更浓郁些,相对的,瑞典那支感觉均衡度更好更易喝,因为是吉隆坡带过去推荐分享,意义比较不一样。
New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red
Personally--this one is a much more mellow/friendly bottle than "Strawberry Rhubard" which totally blew our mind last year--it's still an interesting brew--tasting like fermented cherries juice--no wonder a friend from Scandinavia who came to attend 1 of our tasting group guy's wedding went like " this totally changes my perception about beer".
要是和同样来自这家酿坊的绝版酿品,去年一喝“惊为天人”Strawberry Rhubarb相比,这支肯定没有那么让人觉得惊艳。这是用大量樱桃酿造比利时风格啤酒,与其说是啤酒,不如说是发酵过樱桃果汁。喝的时候适逢朋友结婚有北欧朋友飞来道贺,没什么喝过CRAFT BEER的北欧朋友喝後表示,“完全改变了对啤酒认知”。
Cantillon Blabaer Lambic
Some says this is a must have--some thought it's just nothing but over hyped beer--found a 3 years vertical selection at a bar in CPH--while it's not the best Cantillon i ever had--this is still a nice blueberry lambic to be had--if you see one--just drink.
喜欢这家比利时酿坊啤迷都知道这是专为哥本哈根一家瓶子店酿造,全世界只能在特定发售日飞去丹麦排队买的稀有款。在瓶子店老板新开不久的专卖吧喝到不同年份版本,这是评价不一的蓝莓果酸啤酒,有人觉得天上有地下无,有人觉得过誉或还好而已,个人感受,虽不是喝过最好的CANTILLON作品,有机会喝到的话,还是一定要试。
BFM Abbaye de Saint Bon-Chien 2013
So far--whichever BFM brew i have had did not disappoint,  in fact it's delicious--this one though with 11%abv --taste like a nice fruity light sweet/sour juice --makes you wanna go slow.
瑞士佳酿,11%酒精度,一点都不“烈”的类果汁酸中带微甜啤酒,经过葡萄酒木桶熟陈再混合不同年份酿品而成,入口醇香易喝,适合配搭较丰盛食物或饭后慢慢享受的一款。

Some memorable Asian brew
Young Master RyeO
this rye whiskey BA beer from HK was a gift bottle shared here in KL when 2 HK geeks friends visited--indeed a rare one since it's a one-off brew from Young Master --the nice work of barrel makes the aroma and flavours of malt-rye-oak blended smoothly,  you would not think it's 11.5% sipping it.
香港啤迷朋友带来吉隆坡分享的限量版瓶子,满是麦芽威士忌香味的均衡啤酒。
Moonzen Giesha 
If you like coffee in a beer or rather a coffee in a beer form--not those very strong/pungent type of coffee --but rather like a hint of coffee aroma with light fruity bittersweet--i could relate this to a very mild flat white(though there's no milk in play here). Thanks to another Hk geek for sharing this.
像是微甜带点果香的咖啡,完全不是一般印象中的咖味啤酒,微香易喝。
Kyoto Brewing
Visited them on a Saturday afternoon sometime back in April this year--quite a search since it's located inside a small neighborhood away from any obvious big building or landmark--the reward of finding the brewery after some walking? nice selection of some seasonal brew--and you can't beat drinking fresh from the brewery.
坐在酿坊喝绝对新鲜的啤酒是乐事,当然,啤酒水准要有一定水平,这家绝对没问题。

18th Street BA Bitches Bank imperial stout
this is second year in a row KL tasting group got to taste this delicious bottle received from Drew in CBC--this is truly one awesome stout--the only problem? where to find another or some more?
连续两年受到酿酒师DREW的赠瓶--同样跟本地品酒会啤迷分享,再次喝还是那么美味。
Superstition Framboesa Atando
A limited bottle--gifted by Jeff --shared this in KL with the tasting group guys as well as 4 visiting Singapore Geeks--what's better than sharing this beauty with people who knows how to appreciate it?
Xmas Blend 
yesterday afternoon--a small tasting session was held with the guys--with what now has became a customary Dark Lord + other beers session--but yesterday the game went up a notch or two--with toasted coconut "coffee press" adding some flavours to the beer--and not stopping there--a coconut & bourbon/maple Hunapuhs was made too...
第二年连续在圣诞节聚餐,当然分享瓶子还是重点--今年不例外的开了2014年份DARK LORD--然后也玩了点提味游戏,用挤压方式把一部分黑啤惨入烤椰丝,效果很好,啤酒中明显有椰香味。之后再加码,把同样加椰香的HUNAPUHS再加美国波本酒和枫糖酱, 玩出不同风味.

WEEK 93--2016 Most Memorable Beer List--a list from cttai(KL) PART 1/2

The list continues--this time the First Part of my list written for newspaper column--as usual it's not really a word by word translation--but you get the meaning :)

一年很快结束,对“顽啤主张”来说,今年喝过的啤酒很精彩,也喝到一些顶级蜜酒(MEAD),来看看都有些什么:-
here we go:-
Mexican Cake BA Apple Brandy 
This is a kind of accidental find--landed in Copenhagen on the Monday of CBC week--yes we all knew there's Blaeber Lambic and some other delicious bottles awaiting at this newly opened Bar called Himmeriget--by that "#diacetyl" beer maker of Evil Twin :)
There's a few of us sharing some really delicious beers during the 2 trips at the bar--we were fortunate to have found 3 different BA version of Mexican Cake--and this one--though thin in body according to how my palate like a stout to be--but that seeming"weakness" did not affect the overall deliciousness of this botlle--the apple brandy barrel did magical work to the beer--i have never felt this before--but i would say this is BEYOND what a stout would taste....
墨西哥蛋糕黑啤是美国Westbrook酿坊指标性作品,除了原版,也有好些不同桶陈版本,在哥本哈根找到的稀有瓶子,同时喝到的几个不同版本中,这是最让人惊艳的一支,以个人对黑啤醇厚度要求来说显得有点薄,可一点也不影响整体表现,美味到一个点,已超越黑啤表现范畴。
Superstition Berry White
The first time i tasted "this thing" was early FEB this year at Mikkeller Bangkok--it was actually a very kind gesture from Jakob who shared a pour with me from his private bottle--it was a Strawberry White--i was at the bar with a KL geek friend who is more into the ipas and stouts--he had a sip--and just looked amazed. i also shared with a few friends i know at the bar--the feeling after first and subsequent sips--i still remember so vividly it's like it just happened minutes ago--im not going to describe how it taste or how awesome it taste--just 2 words--all of us who  had a sip or more were just totally FXXKING DUMBFOUNDED! (how can this thing taste so awesome?)
*I was lucky to get a bottle of brewers reserve Berry White from Jeff himself during CBC this year--which i shared with the tasting group guys here in KL--that's second time tasting a White Series bottle--and the effect on everyone's face? same DUMB expression!
蜜酒(Mead)在亚洲供应少很难找,要说像White Series这种在美国本土也只是限量发行级别酿品就更是近乎不可能找到。有幸喝到的是4大版本中的白巧克力搭Berry版本,是曼谷<米吧>老板Jakob的私人收藏,第一次喝到这样融汇梅果巧克力蜜糖香浓的美味,同行有幸一起分享的朋友们简直都懵掉了,完全想像不到是这样极致的色香味
Tree House Haze
A 6 days FRESH can -shared by the good beertender at Himmeriget--for us who lives in ASIA who will never really get to drink fresh as fxxk IPAS/hoppy beers--need i say more?
"类果汁" IPA 是近期美国新兴的风格,简单说就是色泽味道更富有果汁特征,不是一味强调啤酒花苦味的"新分支",在哥本哈根酒吧一位酒保请喝的,是装罐只有6天,从美国手提运送的超新鲜版本,鲜香好喝,是个人喝过至今最有印象的“印度淡啤”之一。
Gueuze Deneve 
Totally did not see this coming--this is a gift bottle from Kristof during CBC week--shared this vintage with a Belgian beer friend here in KL--yes--the champagne-ness of the Gueuze has gone--it has mellowed down and turned into one of the most elegant Lambic i ever had--this one is really a gift from the beer god( if there's such a god somewhere up there)
比利时朋友赠予,超过20年,已绝版的天然发酵果酸啤酒。虽说已有一定年岁,连瓶子木塞也已稍微爛掉,原本应该有的<类香槟>气泡也大致消失,不过完全不影响这瓶佳酿的风味,喝起来就像是很优雅,类似白葡萄酒的酸香发酵果汁,非常有层次。
Alesmith Hawaiian Speedway 
Speedway is one of my personal Favs--as far as how a base stout should taste like is concern--But this version of Speedway is really another beast--the flavours and aroma is just right for a velvety stout--it's a stout that just nice as it is --never mind about barrel aging or not---i would like to get hold of another few if i could.
Speedway stout 是这家美国酿坊的代表作,不同变奏版本很多。这是用了夏威夷特产咖啡豆融合椰子香草,没有经过桶陈处理原版,无论是风味醇香度都让人很享受,一些人以为经过桶陈熟成的黑啤层次风味一定更丰富好喝,这支啤酒很清楚的展现了什么叫原版就已很好喝,也胜过不少其他桶陈黑啤,期待再次喝到。
Anchorage Lovebuzz Saison
This is one saison i been seeking to drink for quite a while--but being in Asia obviously the chances of getting hold of a bottle is low--found this on tap in Copenhagen--and yes--totally did not dissapoint--it's a lovely beer.
阿拉斯加一家酿坊的作品,在这之前有尝试过托朋友在国外寻找瓶子,算是慕名想喝上几口好些时间的一款,终于在哥本哈根“米吧”喝的是上了啤酒泵版本,很有果皮香层次的农场风格啤酒,不单调,属于适合解渴稍微大口喝,也可坐着慢慢品尝的好喝易喝啤酒。
Mikkeler X + Koppi imperial stout 
Coffee / Cold Brew is a regular fixture during CBC--i still remember Mostra Coffee from last year's edition very well--their cold brew was amazing---and of course i like what Koppi from the homeland of Denmark is doing with their beans--this collab brew is really tasty--if you like coffee and stouts
X是米记作品中既有黑啤,这次跟不同咖啡豆烘焙品牌合作,同时上了啤酒泵的就有三个不同版本,个人最喜欢跟丹麦冠军咖啡品牌Koppi合作版,黑啤和醇香咖啡之间的和谐恰到好处,谁也没抢谁。
Shatipaja Passionista 
Sahtipaja certainly is one of the brightest during CBC--they are so versatile with different style of brew--had this on tap in Singapore during small event--and most of us agreed that this is the most outstanding beer on that day.
Berliner Weiss 是酸中带点咸风味低度易喝啤酒,这款来自瑞典酿坊的版本用了百香果提味,口感非常清爽,酸咸香适中,任何时候喝都会喜欢。
The Bruery Smoking Wood Bourbon BA 
To not select any of the weekday series Bottles probably sounds a little strange--considering how difficult it is for us here in Asia to get any of those Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday...But this brew is quite amazing--the smoke influence/the bourbon effects--it's really tasty.
酒标名字说的很清楚,以旧时方式烟熏木头烘烤酿酒麦芽,让这支黑啤有着明显的烟熏麦芽香,加上美国波本酒桶的陈放熟成,是高度黑啤类中很特出的一支。
SARA Fumare BA 
Speaking of smoke--the smoky mushroom like influence from this sour is very interesting--it's definitely not the most complex sour  out there--but interesting--and that's good enough--thanks to our geek friends from Singapore who brought this up to KL for a share.
同样是烟熏影响,这支美国酿坊作品是蛮有趣的酸味啤酒,微酸中带有类似烤蘑菇似的烟熏香味,是至今喝过酸啤酒中很不同的一支。

Playing with Blend/ 玩点混酒
there's 2 amazing blend done during 2 different spur of the moment:-
Alesmith Hawaiian Speedway + The Breury Mocha Wednesday
this is really a very small blend--in almost 1 to 1 ratio--and it taste really awesome--better than drinking each alone--the coconut/coffee influence blended very well with the slightly boozy/vanilla-ish Mocha beer--it kinda felt like a perfect match of  ALL STAR point guard and center forward--they each can play brilliantly on their own--but even better when combined.
感觉就像强强对话--全星队控卫遇上大中锋--功力骤然提升。
This is more like a playful mix earlier this year at Mikkeller Bangkok with a friend--but it really turned out to be the best blend of 2016--a lambic-a sour brown & a desert stout--you could imagine :)
完全只是一时兴起玩的--结果是今年混得最好的一次,太美味。

2016 Most Memorable Beer List-a list from Liam (Hong Kong)

Liam is a beer geek from HK--the first time we met in person was actually at Mikkeller Bangkok--it's the scene all too familiar to most geeks around the world--total strangers started talking- about certain beer--and then started sharing a beer or two...
Liam is passionate about craft beer, and writes about beers/mead he tasted on social media :-

啤咩啤BmB Beer meh Beer HK 


年度最有印象清单继续,这次是香港啤迷朋友LIAM的选酒,一次在曼谷“米吧”偶遇认识了热衷于分享/写关于品酒心得的LIAM--啤迷之间共同语言蛮简单,就算之前完全是陌生人,也能很快沟通,分享一些啤酒之后,更容易了解是不是同路人。

Here's the list from Liam( and perhaps i should have asked him to write in Mnadarin/Cantonese too--instead of me trying to interpret :)
1.      New Glarus Brewing Company “Raspberry Tart”
They certainly brew the best fruit beers in the world. This “Raspberry Tart” was given by my beer geek friend, Tommy, on my wedding day! After the long exhausting day, it was our energy drink. “Are we drinking fresh raspberry juice?” my wife asked.
这是LIAM婚礼朋友赠与的美国酿坊水果啤酒,婚礼当天多么耗精力,经过的人都会知道,这瓶啤酒对LIAM来说是能量饮料--他老婆大人的反应“这是在喝着新鲜覆盆子果汁吗?"
2.      Hill Farmstead Brewery “Twilight of the Idols”

It was a hearty gift from my beer geek friend, Kenneth, for my wedding and my first Hill Farmstead. No wonder why they are the no.1 brewery in the world. An extremely well-balanced porter that is full of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla. Full of flavour but nothing too much.
婚礼收到的另一瓶--也是LIAM有史以来第一支HF啤酒,一支恰到好处的均衡醇香黑啤,世界最佳酿坊的称号不是盖的。
3.      Omnipollo “Yellow Belly Sundae”
Omnipollo has never disappointed me. Their so-called “liquid desserts” imperial stouts are just awesome. “Yellow Belly” is the liquid form of peanut butter but without any nuts or peanut butter added. The original one is too sweet but the bourbon barrel-aged “Sundae” version is just perfect with more layers of complexity. It always comes up in my mind whenever a celebration drink is needed.
这家瑞典酿坊至今没让LIAM失望过,尤其是这支“甜品类”黑啤--喝起来像是液体花生酱,可是酿造过程完全没有加入花生酱。LIAM比较喜欢桶陈版本,觉得比原版来得更有层次,不会那么甜。
4.      Garage Project “Death From Above”
I have said that “Death From Above” can be my everyday beer during summer. It is a solid IPA with special ingredients (mint, lime juice, mango chili) added. You can easily taste its transition from minty, mango and citrusy flavour to spicy and grapefruit bitter aftertaste
这是夏天可以天天喝的啤酒,一支带来薄荷,芒果,柑橘类再转换至微辣,葡萄柚微涩口感的IPA。
5.      Brasserie Cantillon Beer Tasting 
When my wife and I visited Brasserie Cantillon in June, we planned to try two to three bottles maximum. Luckily, we met some true beer geeks from Norway and US and every one of us were willing to share and talk with each other. This was one of the most wonderful tasting I have ever had and embodied there are no boundaries for beer geeks!
今年6月,LIAM和老婆去了趟欧洲,在比利时这家酿坊原本只打算喝上两三支就够,因为遇上来自挪威和美国啤迷,就那样,陌生人围在一起分享更多,这是LIAM至今最美妙的一次品酒分享经验。
6.      Young Master Ales “Mio”
A whisky barrel-aged Quad that was well-made by our local brewery. I tried the non-barrel aged and barrel-aged versions at the same time and was surprised by the huge enhancement of flavour with barrel-aging. I am looking forward to their upcoming beers brewed with Brettanomyces. 
来自香港本土酿坊-少爷的作品,比利时旧式风格啤酒,威士忌桶陈版本很明显的大大提升/丰富了原版风味。
7.      Moonzen Brewery “"Moonzen Lunar Barleywine"”
Another great brew which Hong Kong people should be proud of. It is a full-bodied English-style barleywine which has lots of flavour like dark fruits, molasses, Chinese ingredients, such as dried dates and longan. Chinese New Year is coming soon. Let’s see how it will taste like after a year.

8.      Superstition Meadery’s Meads
The first time I tried “craft” meads was at Mikkeller Bangkok, Superstition mead tap takeover. The mead platter just blew up my mind. I have never thought of the mead infused with vanilla beans, berries or bourbon barrel-aged. I am happy to see that mead is going to hit Asia soon.

9.      Hill Farmstead Brewery “Table Dorothy”
Undoubtedly, it is the best table beer I have ever tried so far. A session saison comes up with mild sour, lots of citrusy, brett, grassy and balanced maltiness. Most importantly, it was bought by my non-beer geek friend from Vermont. He drove 2 hours to the brewery, lined up for an hour and gave me a surprise when he came to Hong Kong!
毫无疑问的,这是LIAM喝过最好的低度啤酒(TABLE BEER)-是美国朋友(不是啤迷)驾车两小时去酿坊,再排队一小时才买到,在香港赠与的意外惊喜。
10.      Mikkeller “Nelson Sauvignon”
One of the best beers from Mikkeller and it is called “Bière de Champagne” by Beeradvocate. With the help of my friends, I was lucky to try the original (2015), 2011, chardonnay barrel-aged and dry hopped versions. The original one is still my favourite and filled with grape, white wine, brett, tropical fruit, woody and some characters from Belgium yeast. It is just so complex and yummy.
